Supreme Leader Khamenei Quran Interpretation , verses of 5&6 Munafequn Surah

And when it is said to them, "Come, the Messenger of Allāh will ask forgiveness for you," they turn their heads aside and you see them evading while they are arrogant. It is all the same for them whether you ask forgiveness for them or do not ask forgiveness for them; never will Allāh forgive them. Indeed, Allāh does not guide the defiantly disobedient peop

Muslim efforts to convert hypocrites to Islam

In these two verses, another characteristic of hypocrites is mentioned. It is natural that when the hypocrites in the Islamic society live in a situation that the believers do not like, and fall out of favor with God and the Messenger of God, and the believers do not have a good opinion of them, some people try to advise them and try to bring them back to the embrace of Islam. It is very natural for something like this to happen in the society. The same thing happened to the hypocrites of the Prophet's time. Because there was a history and they saw that the Messenger of God asked for forgiveness for some of the infidels and asked for forgiveness from God Almighty

Examples of asking for forgiveness from the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) for Muslims

It is mentioned in the verses of the Quran that the Prophet has sought forgiveness from God Almighty for the believers and for the believers those who have come to believe, and he has given two or three verses as an example. when the Muslim women came to pledge allegiance to the Prophet that not commit polytheism, not steal, not commit adultery, not kill their children

They accept Islam and give their hearts to you, pledge allegiance to be a believer; That is, accept the allegiance of these

واستغفر لهن الله

Ask God for forgiveness for their past sins, shortcomings, and failures. One more thing about the believers, God Almighty says in Surah Ale- Imran to the Prophet

فبما رحمه من الله لنت لهم

This gentleness you have with people is because of the mercy that Almighty God has shown to you or to them; And if you were heavy-hearted, hard-hearted and mean-spirited, they would not have gathered around you, then he says:  Forgive them and forgive some of their shortcomings, and seek forgiveness for them. And the same in other cases such as (Nesa 64)

و لو انهم اذ ظلموا انفسهم جاووک فاستغفرو الله و استغفر لهم الرسول لوجدواالله توابا رحیما

"Even if they have wronged themselves, seek forgiveness from Allah, and the Messenger asked forgiveness for them, so that they may seek Allah's repentance." Mercifully If, when they commit injustice, they come to you and ask for forgiveness from Almighty God and also ask for forgiveness from the Prophet, they will find God forgiving and accepting of repentance. These verses in the Qur'an indicate that the Prophet seeks forgiveness from God Almighty in cases where there is a fault and mistake among the believers, and this forgiveness of the Prophet also benefits them even though they were sinners. It helps them to repent and God Almighty accepts their repentance; Because asking for forgiveness is a prayer, and prayer from the pure heart of the Prophet is close to being answered; And he does not make any mistakes and the Prophet also prays and his prayers are answered. and it doesn't seem unlikely that people will ask the Prophet to pray for them

Simple thinking about the hypocrites' repentance

well, the hypocrites were a group of people who had gradually become clear that these are unsuitable people; In some cases, things were issued from their tongues that identified their nature and their illness. The believers may think that now we should go and take this to the Prophet and the Prophet should pray for, for example, Abdullah bin Abi, who was the leader of the hypocrites, and ask for forgiveness, maybe he will pass him by. It means, in fact, a kind of simplistic view and simple thinking; Because the sin of mistake and neglect is forgivable and can be forgiven by God, but what about stubbornness? What about the deliberate enmity with God and the Prophet? Yes, this is also forgivable, but when? When that person who owns this stubbornness and deep enmity of the heart, really returns; It means that an infidel should become a Muslim like all Muslims in the world; However, there are two types of infidels, those who do not intend to fight and those who intend to fight; Hypocrites are those infidels who intend to fight. I stated in the explanation at the beginning of this surah that if these people do not intend to fight, the fact that they do not have faith in their hearts, that they are not Muslim in appearance and that they are not Muslim inwardly, that they have nothing to do with the work of religion and the faith of this and that and the Islamic society, there is no problem; The Almighty God will treat everyone according to his faith and deeds in the Day of Judgment. This is the talk of hypocrite leaders who work for the cause of Muslims. This is a type of optimism and simplistic thinking. that we in our own time, we saw these simple thoughts in some people when we say hypocrites, that is, those who claimed faith, Islam, revolution, Quran, prayer, and these things, but inwardly they had absolutely no knowledge of these things in their hearts. Some people did not understand this. At the beginning of the victory of the revolution, when the nature of the hypocrites had not yet been revealed, a number of good, faithful and good-hearted people would regularly mess with them to get them away from their mistakes, but they did not have any effect, sometimes they had the opposite effect; We saw that those who were dealing with them in order to fix them, as we Mashhadis say, their own feet slipped. They could not hold themselves and problems arose in them. The purpose is that it was naive and gullible for people to go and talk to this man who has made his own decision and choice and does not accept Islam, the revolution, religion, and the Prophet [but] for the benefit of the times, he pretends to mean this, some  Muslims say sir, come, compromise with religion and with faith and the like, let us take you to the Prophet and ask for forgiveness for you

Arrogance is one of the characteristics of hypocrites

During the Prophet's time, this good faith was done by a few people; They used to go before, the hypocrites said that let's take you to the Prophet to seek forgiveness for you; This verse says

و اذا قیل لهم تعالوا یستغفر لکم رسول الله

"And when it was said to them, may Allah's Messenger forgive you"; The hypocrites we are talking about are those who, when they are told that the Prophet of God will ask for forgiveness for you, instead of showing their desire, they will be happy that now their sins may be forgiven in the Prophet opinion, they refused

لووا رئوسهم ورایتهم یصدون وهم مستکبرون

They twist their heads, which is an allusion to refusal, or shake it, which is an allusion to mockery; They make fun of this word and this invitation. You see that they refuse, and they are arrogant", while these are arrogant, and disrespectful of religion, disrespectful of the believers and disrespectful of the Prophet. This is the first verse

As I mentioned, in this first verse, a characteristic of the hypocrites is mentioned, and that is arrogance; He wants to show that the hypocrites have unfamiliar and uneven hearts and disregard the truth and faith, and that is why they do not submit to the truth and faith. Perhaps the meaning of arrogance is close to the concept of pride; Arrogance is the act of greatness, that is, someone assumes pride and greatness, and arrogance is the state in which a person assumes greatness for himself. Arrogance means to consider yourself great. such a thing

Moral arrogance and social arrogance

Of course, this arrogance is different from social arrogance, which is mentioned a lot in the Quran. During the Taghut rule, people are divided into two specific groups, one group is the oppressed group and the other group is the arrogant group. We call this arrogance here as social arrogance. In fact, arrogance is considered an act here, and another form is about a state of the society or a part of the society as egoistic state. The meaning of social arrogance is that in the society, a group of people consider their own community superior to other groups and to the general public, and this superiority leads to appropriate various social privileges for themselves and this is something that is forbidden in Islam

Therefore, Islamic governments and Islamic societies should not move towards stratification and the rule of one group of people over other groups; It doesn't matter whether it is financial groups, scientific groups, or even spiritual groups such as clerics and scholars. The Islamic society is that society which does not give any special privileges to any of the individuals, groups and social strata on the occasion of belonging to this stratum or having this financial or quasi-financial characteristic such as genealogical, scientific, etc. It knows the privilege only for faith, good deeds, knowledge and these things. Of course, the characteristic of the Islamic society is that it puts everything in its place, and those who have knowledge, those who have experience, and those who have expertise must use their knowledge, their experience, their expertise, various knowledge, and different eloquence in their place, and the Islamic society must use all of this

In tyrannical societies, one group seizes privileges; A financial group with a relative group, financial group like companies, the truth is that governments are in their hands, they are taking over the government. These trusts and cartels that exist in western countries today

with military groups such as military regimes that exist in the world; A military group takes control of power and militarism becomes the criterion, or family groups such as royal families; A person who is a king, his people, his relatives, his children, his brothers, his cousins, his family members and everyone close to them, have various social privileges, the government belongs to them, the power belongs to them; If something spills from that corner of their table, it belongs to the rest of the people; every someone was more clever and brought himself closer to them, he gets more or less, all of these show different forms of arrogance. These become arrogant, that is, those who make themselves the owners of the society and take charge of the management of the society, the fate of the society, and the general and major decisions of the people in the society; Politics belongs to them, trade belongs to them, peace and war belong to them, everything is in their hands and the common people have no authority. In such a society, those masses of people who have no authority are called the oppressed. A person may even be prosperous [but] be among the oppressed in a tyrannical society, this is how it is; Even people who have financial means but are not part of the ruling group and affiliated to the ruling body are oppressed; That is, they have no authority; They have no role in the fate of the society in major decisions and in the movement of the whole society to one side; The important roles are for those who are dependent

Of course, we saw an example of this in our own country before the revolution. We lived in that system for many years and we completely touched the arrogant and the oppressed. Different social strata were oppressed at that time, and only those who were arrogant were those whose hands were linked with the hands of the ruling system

From different groups, there were rich people, wealthy, factory owners, politicians, military clerics, and even elements from the lower strata of those who were in They served the ruling system and were among the arrogant; In their service and complicit with them in service, not in the sense that they used all of them forcibly; No, they were in conscious service with the ruling apparatus. They were arrogant, the rest of the people from all strata, even the strata that were apparently employed by the ruling apparatus, were among the oppressed

The root of that social arrogance whose name is in some places in the Qur'an is the same moral arrogance that is here; It means considering yourself bigger, considering yourself more worthy than the rest of the people to run the country and to make public decisions, not taking into account the people and not valuing them, disregarding them, not taking their thoughts into consideration, This is the state of arrogance. Of course, this arrogance, which we can call moral arrogance, has its origins; For some reasons, human beings become arrogant that if we want to enter into a broad discussion of this issue, it will take a long time. How is it that a person considers himself higher than people? The effect of this arrogance, which is very ugly, and we are all forbidden to be arrogant, appears here. Arrogance causes a person to consider himself higher than other people and other servants of God, to distance himself from them and to think that he should not spend his time consulting with them and talking with them. Therefore, the Holy Prophet is commissioned by Almighty God to consult with the people

وشاورهم فی الامر

Consult them in matters

And the Quran is full of signs of the movement of the opponents of the Prophets in the direction of disregarding the people and the movement of the Prophets in the direction of the consideration of the common people. There are cases in the Quran in which the infidels objected to the Prophet that you have gathered the people of the lower classes around you

الا الذین هم اراذلنا بادی  الرای

In Arabic; Arazel means the people of the street and the market, the people of the lower classes, the people who do not have any financial or job privileges; Barefoot, average people; These are what the arrogant say when they saw Noah inviting, Hud inviting, the other prophets inviting, they said to them who are these people who are gathered around you? These are the people of the lower classes; Do these have any value? Instead of going to the scientists, you gather the things you understand and the cultured and so on around you, you are happy that you have gathered the common people and, as some say, a similar tone was said to our Prophet, they also said to the prophets of the past, but on the other hand, the tone of the Prophets was the opposite; In response, the prophets say that we are not ready to reject these believers in God from our surroundings. God Almighty says to the Holy Prophet

ولا تطرد الذین یدعون ربهم بالغداه و العشی یریدون وجهه

Don't distance yourself these people who come from the lower class around you and pray to God day and night, just because some famous or respected persons come to sit around you. let they not come.Whoever believes, he is respected; Whoever is mixed with his God, he is valuable; Anyone who joins Hezbollah has a price. Those who hate Hezbollah and hate the common people should not come. In the Quran, in many places, there is such a tone on both sides of calling the prophets and opposing the prophets. So this arrogance means considering oneself higher than others, hypocrites are like this; If you tell the hypocrites to come to the Prophet so that the Prophet asks for forgiveness for you, they will smile and say, "Should we come to the Prophet?" No, we don't want him to ask for forgiveness for us. They do not pay attention to the Prophet, nor to his forgiveness, nor to his relatives; They value themselves more, why is it like this? Because there is absolutely no faith in their hearts, this is the state that man observes in hypocrites, in those who appear to believe but inwardly have disbelief. It existed in our time and we saw it in our revolution

Not accepting forgiveness for hypocrites

So it (verse 5)says

 لووا رئوسهم

They turn their heads., it means to refuse and not to accept, and it also means to shake the head; They shake their heads in the sense of sarcasm and making fun

و رایتهم یصدون

You see that they refuse, they forbid

  و هم مستکبرون

While they are arrogant; That is, they consider themselves higher and superior than to come to the Prophet so that the Prophet will seek forgiveness for them. Now God also answers these; Does he say it is like this? Don't they come so that you ask forgiveness for them? So know and let them know that if you ask for forgiveness for them too, it is of no use. God does not accept the Prophet's forgiveness for the hypocrites, just like He does not accept about infidels, there is one case in the Quran that is uncle of Hazrat Ibrahim; At one time, below this, the verse I think in Surah Momtaheneh  is the interpretation of "اب", which means the father, which Ali al-Zahir means of this father. We gave a detailed explanation and stated that the meaning of this word

'اب''

which is in Surah Momtaheneh, is Abraham's uncle, and not his relative father, or his mother's husband. He was asking for forgiveness with one of these several meanings: God! He is astray, grant him forgiveness and forgive him

"واغفر لابی انه کان من الضالین"

Then, in one case, the Quran itself says not to pray for the infidels, then it gives the answer to this problem that if someone has a problem with how Ibrahim prayed for Azar. He says

" وما کان استغفار ابراهیم لابیه الا عن موعده وعدها ایاه"

And what was Ibrahim's asking for forgiveness for his father except for his promise?" The fact that Ibrahim asked for forgiveness for his father or his uncle was because he had promised that he would believe and there was hope in Abraham's heart that he would believe. In order to soften his heart, he asked Almighty God to guide him and believe

"فلما تبین له انه عدو لله تبرا منه"

[But] when it became clear that this father was an enemy of God, Ibrahim acquitted from him and never went to him again. So we do not have the right to pray or ask for forgiveness for polytheists. It is the same here; If the Prophet asks for forgiveness for these hypocrites, God will not accept the Prophet's forgiveness. Why? Because these are a group who don’t have merit of it. God's favor, God's mercy and God's forgiveness needs necessary merit; God Almighty does not forgive every sinner; Just as the Holy Prophet does not intercede for every sinner, the Prophet intercedes for that person who has the merit for forgiveness, God also forgives him, but there is a person who does not have the merit for intercession and the merit for forgiveness at all; why because he distanced himself too far and drowned in sin and denial and away from God; There is no turning back; It does not return by itself, nor can it be returned. It is like a very great doctor will heal a patient; But what about a dead person? The doctor can no longer heal the dead. Now we say that he is a great doctor and he will heal the dying patient, but there must be a little soul in him for the doctor to heal him; But when it has no life at all and has turned into a dead, how can the doctor heal it? It is not possible to make him well. It is the same with sinners; These have become debauchee; he says

"سواء علیهم"

it is the same for them, ask forgiveness for them, whether you ask for forgiveness for them, or don't ask for forgiveness for them

" استغفرت لهم ام لم تستغفر لهم"

May not Allah forgive them.

"لن یغفر الله لهم"

Lan means eternal negation, which means that God will never have forgiveness for them and will not forgive them; why? Indeed, Allah does not guide the debauchee

"ان الله لا یهدی القوم الفاسقین"

God does not guide those people who have become debauchee; This is an argument for non-forgiveness

Psychological analysis of why the debauchee are not guidable

Of course, the debauchee here is different from the debauchee that is in our minds; If someone commits even one sin, we say that he is a debauchee. The debauchery means the outcast; It has been said that, that rotten date skin, this date comes out from inside this skin, they say "Fasaq"; And that is why the person who is a debauchery has left the religion in general, he has left the shell of faith; This is called a debauchee; It means something like Kafer in the sense of unbeliever or even a bit worse than the usual unbeliever. Man, of course, when he sins a lot and violates the divine order, gradually this happens to him; We must seek refuge in God. Gradually, by doing things that are contrary to the divine duty, a person will fall into such a mental state that he will not be able to be guided in any way and no words will have any effect on him. As we have said many times, a person sees that a word has an effect on ordinary people, it takes place in their hearts and attracts them, but because a person is drowned in sin, drowned in lusts, and drowned in selfishness, this word does not have an effect on him; And we experienced this again in the post-revolution period, in the context of the important issues of the revolution. We saw those who with the appearance of being a believer, had such an inwardness that no advice had any effect on them; Imam's warm breath did not leave an impression on them, this is also the same; He says: May God forgive them; The Almighty God will never forgive them, indeed Allah does not guide the debauchee; Debauchery is leaving the religion in such a way that it is no longer possible to return and there is no spiritual ground for returning. It is natural for such people who are not guided; It is a very natural thing for them not to be guided. After understanding these two verses, it is time for the next two verses, which quote two statements from the words of these hypocrites and answer them. one is this, because they tell their friends and relatives that for the Prophet should not spend. That is, don't give money to the prophet because he needs to gather people - an organization needs money, take your money, hide it and don't give it to the prophet; As has always been the custom. since the beginning of the revolution, some people took their money out of banks and hid it in safes and the like, or for example, they destroyed, wasted, and set fire to property. [The hypocrites] had such a state and spirit that later I will explain it so that the prophet cannot manage his own organization. This is a [promise] that Almighty God answers them in this verse. Another is that they say that if we return to Madinah, we, who are the dearest, will remove the Prophet, who is the most humiliated, from Madinah. It has a description related to an event and a story, which I will tell later, God willing
