When you see them, their outward appearance pleases you, and when they speak, you listen to what they say. But they are like planks of wood leaned [against the wall ] They deem every cry to be against

them. They are the enemy, so beware of them. May Allah destroy them; how are they deluded

It means the amazing body of the hypocrites

This verse mentions two or three other sentences about the hypocrites. The first sentence may refer to one trait and may refer to more than one trait. Now I will explain some of the words in this verse so that later, God willing, the set of words in this verse will become clear. He says: "When you see them, you admire their bodies

و اذا رایتهم تعجبک اجسامهم

Another characteristic of the hypocrites is that when you see them, their body, their structure, or as they say today, their mannerisms and gestures, amazes you; Their bodies will make you wonder. either of these situations. Well, in this one sentence, there are two possibilities that I can mention two possibilities. One is to say that when He says

 "تعجبک اجسامهم"

, their bodies surprise you, that is, their appearance is beautiful, physical and has an amazing figure; It may mean this. If this is the meaning, it is no longer a general characteristic for hypocrites; Because all the hypocrites are not good-looking people; No, there are also hypocrites who have a very bad appearance. So, if the meaning is that these people have beautiful bodies, or they are physically fit people, this should be referring to specific hypocrites, and in this case, those specific hypocrites will be the same hypocrites who ran the hypocrisy tendency during the Prophet's time. That is, Abdullah bin Abi and his companions. It is reported that Abdullah bin Abi was a well-built man with a good appearance, neat and clean. They used to come and sit, now the Hizbollahs were also at that time when their situation was not so good; But they were very well-mannered, they came regularly and beautifully. They used to sit there in the assembly of the Prophet, that is, when they admired their hearts." Their bodies are beautiful and settled, orderly, and good. The next sentence that says

 و ان یقولوا تسمع لقولهم

" when they speak, you listen to their words, is suitable with the same meaning as the first sentence; It means that their tone is sweet, warm and easy to speak; They are like this which is again mentioned in the narration that Abdullah bin Abi had these characteristics; A well-built, well-spoken, well-dressed man would come and sat next to the Prophet; He would bring four or five people with him, they sat there and filled the Prophet's assembly. At all, they would have occupied the meeting place of the Prophet. This is a possibility.Another possibility in the meaning of these two sentences is to say that the meaning of

 تعجبک اجسامهم

is that their bodies surprise you - it is not that their bodies, their bodies and their appearance are a neat and orderly appearance; No, but it means that their bodies, their appearances surprise you because they are the way [you] like people in appearance, which in my opinion is a stronger and more reasonable possibility. In every group of people, it is common and desirable to dress, speak, and look the same way. Since they don't pay much attention to appearances and they care more about the inside than the outside, there people don't pay much attention to their appearances, but they care about such a treatment that shows their interest in this school. Today, for example, you in this Iranian society. When you look at the faces of the people, the way people dress is a special kind. In the past, young people were different, now they are different; In the past, young people used to dress in a different way, but now those who believe in this thought and this school naturally have a kind of appearance; And these are some of the things that normally exist among those who are interested in this thought, this school, and this trend; For example, in his prayer, his attention, his humility, for example, his simplicity and purity. Those who want to place themselves, i.e. hypocrisy, they naturally take the same situation that the believing people have. Naturally, surprising anyone is in accordance with his wishes, his thoughts, his opinions, and the like; When they say to the Prophet, if you see them, you will be surprised, that is, their behavior is a prophet-like behavior; The Prophet likes humility. They express humility. The Prophet likes kindness, they are kind in the presence of the Prophet. The Prophet likes that, for example, if the believers enter, the other believers who are sitting make room for them. They are like this. The Prophet likes people to come to the mosque first to pray. The Prophet likes that when he preaches, he advises people to listen properly, listen

They look like they are listening to the words of the Prophet in the same way that the Prophet likes. They show the same way. What they take to themselves will surprise you. In such a way that you are impressed by them their gestures are movements, these are sounds of their strength"; If they open their mouths and speak, they are good believers, have you noticed? Its meaning is this. "And it is said that you, who are a prophet, like to talk like that; For example, if the prophet likes that the person who is speaking is talking to the Quran with proofs from the Quran, they will speak like that; If the Prophet likes that the people who speak should speak with consideration and caution and with the observance [that] there should be no lying, no backbiting, then they will speak in the same way; If the Prophet likes people to come to his service and say, "O Messenger of God, preach us," they will come and say, "O Messenger of God!" Preach us. All the things that the faithful people who like the Prophet do, these are the same. They do things; That's why the result is:

 و ان یقولوا

if they speak, you, who are a prophet, listen to their words. is it true This characteristic is the characteristic of the hypocrites. This is another possibility that I am presenting in these two sentences, and this second possibility, in my opinion, is of course a stronger and more reasonable possibility. This is the explanation of these two sentences. Well, let me read these two sentences once more

و اذا رایتهم

 When you see these hypocrites

 تعجبک اجسامهم

their bodies, their dressing, their dignity, politeness and discipline, or their Islamic attire, will surprise you. And when they speak, they open their mouths, listen to them", their speaking is so good, so eloquent, that is, they are so eloquent, and well-spoken according to the first possibility, or that their speaking is in line with Islamic considerations, accuracy and sincerity, apparent truth, of course, and blending with the Quran and hadith and such words that you listen to their words; They talk to you like a true believer

Hypocrites are like sticks leaning against the wall

Well, their appearance is like this, but now their insides; Their interior

"کانهم خشب مسنده"

as if these are the sticks that are leaning against the wall. First, he said: "Good evidence"; leaning wood; because we also have sticks that are not leaning against the wall, they are good; [like] the wood of a tree, this tree that has grown is also wood, this is not a bad thing; It has life by itself, it has life, it has plant life, it grows, it has independence; There is something inside it, but the wood that they leaned against the wall cannot stand, but they supported it and fixed its appearance. For example, you go to an exhibition where they paint and oil some wood, carve and lean it against the wall; When you look at its appearance, it is very nice, but what is its inside? If there is no support, the ground will fall; It is wood at all and there is nothing inside it; No soul, no life, no understanding. There is a possibility about the word "خشب" - because we took the plural of "Khushab" as we mean it, meaning wood; "Khushub" means wood, some have said that "Khushub" is the plural of "Khashabah"; Khashya at all) means wood, yoke, rotten wood, the yoke looks like a smooth, clean and good piece of wood, but if you saw any part of it, cut it off with an ax, you will see that inside is a yoke; A termite that has been eaten, poked and damaged is of no use; Not in a building, not for a roof, not for a board, nothing is useful, these are the same; When you look at his appearance, you can see that he has an Islamic style with a good appearance; Or you can see his voice, tone and words, how well he recites the Quran, how well he prays, what kind of worship he does; It has as much interiority and content as this rotten wood; How much content does rotten wood have? none; This is the same; It means they have no interior at all. Just as we read about the hypocrites of the early days of Islam, including, for example, the hypocrites of the time of Amir al-Mominin, that they worshiped and prayed. It is narrated that when Amir al-Mominin went to the battle of Nahrwan, the war with the Khawarij, they came into the city at night from the camp outside the city of Kufa, and one of their companions was with them. They used to go and pass through the streets of Kufa. They saw someone reading Quran with a very sad, warm and eloquent voice. This person who was with Amir al-Mominin (peace be upon him) said, as they have narrated, O Amir al-Mominin! What a Quran! I wish I was a hair on this person's body because it will eventually go to heaven - and I would become heaven. Hazrat said that don't judge, if someone has a good tone for Quran it wouldn’t cause such a judgment. It shouldn't have been so much subject to appearance, of course, I will mention these details - two or three days after that, in a place called Nahrwan, a war broke out between Amir al-Mominin and the Khawarij, and a number of Nahrwanites from the Khawarij were killed in that war. Because, Khawarij were among those who were believers one day; They were among the previous believers who were now rising against the Amir al-Mominin. They rose up against Amir al-Mominin and the government of Ali (peace be upon him) because of the nonsense and deceptions that had been proposed. So they were familiar; (=There were people who had previously eaten bread and salt together), as the saying goes, the Prophet moved among these dead with great regret, looking at each dead body, saying something, saying a sentence; The companions of Amir al- Momineen were also moving with him and they were also watching. And there  was advice and lesson in this moving and it was very interesting how those who draw a sword from their faith and the Imam of their time and suffer this fate, their situation reaches the point where in front of the Amir al Momineen and the Leader of the World and the Hereafter; They are killed here and there they go in hell. They reached a person who was lying face down on the ground; He had been killed. He had died. He had fallen. The Prophet said to return this. returned [Hazrat] took a look at the person who was with him, who was now among his companions, and said, "Do you know this?" He said no, he said that this is the same person who was reciting Quran by a beautiful tone that night, and he is from people who fought with Amir al-Mominin, with Ali bin Abi Talib,. Reciting the Quran by appearance and outward worship is not proof. Of course, this does not mean that everyone who recites the Quran well is a hypocrite, anyone who prays very well, we say "Ah, this is a problem in his work, not the original coins, those are the ones who recite the Quran very well, they pray very well, they pray with attention, they also pray for God; The hypocrites make a fake coin. If there weren't good people and faithful people among those who read the Quran well, the hypocrite would not try to make himself like them, not that now anyone who has the appearance of worshiping in his speech, in his movement, is careful about his actions, behavior and speech, he worships humbly. No, we do not have the right to such a thing, but we are warned that even those who behave in such a manner, they read the Quran well, they recite dua well, their tone, their voice, their speech, their actions attract a person, they should not be carelessly attached to these things, but the signs of faith should be searched for in people and found in this way. It means that there may even be stupid people among them; The hypocrite shows himself under these, because our era and our revolution saw currents that were outwardly religious and inwardly anti-religious; Both before the revolution and after the revolution
