The observer of the discussion of the martyrs says: regarding death on the front, some of those who deny life after death considered death to be destruction and decay, and some who believed in life after death considered this death to be a form of deprivation. They hesitated to participate in the war with disbelief, they said: A person who dies in the front will either perish or be deprived. The Holy Quran gives a positive opinion to both matters, saying: First, man is not destroyed by death, secondly, he will not be deprived, but he will reach a superior and better life
The truth of death, death of the soul by angels and transfer to another world
He went on to explain the truth of death and clarifies: the basic life is after death, never say "those who became martyrs, they died" this is not death; Death means decline and death has been negated in the Holy Quran, that “Vafat” which has been proven by saying: it is actually Vafat” and not death. this "Ta" is not part of the word, its origin is from "Wafa", the subject of Tavaffi, Istifa, Wafi, and Ifa, they all say "totally taking ", if a container is emptied from one container to another container and all of it a person emptied the container into another container and nothing was left behind. Man be transferred and the angel of death will transfer him, God Subhan, transfers the whole truth of man from place to place, nothing is lost. Man will not be scattered, will not disintegrate, nothing will be destroyed, will not be lost, man is taken and transferred, not lost.
There are two types of people who are transferred from this world to another world: either they are believers or righteous people, or they are disbelievers are misbehaving people and those who disbelieve will be punished as soon as they die, those who are believers (especially those who become martyrs) will reach a better life.
By stating that believers in general and martyrs in particular enjoy a blessed life, he calls those martyrs a better life and emphasizes: These are alive, not that they will be resurrected in the resurrection, they are alive now ﴾ You do not have that exact understanding). If someone understands that precise and thin matter, which is like a fine grain of hair, then they say that he understands the issue. In this verse
ولکن لا تشعرون
You do not understand this precise matter and but not to feel in some of the verses.
So that you don't only say about the martyrs that they are dead, you also don't imagine death:
ولا تحسبن الذين قتلوا في سبيل الله امواتاً بل احياءٌ
There he negated speculation, here he negated this word, that is, your logic about the martyrs should not be that they are dead, but that they are alive:
ولا تقولوا لمن يقتل في سبيل الله امواتٌ بل احياءٌ ولكن لاتشعرون
They are still alive. Of course, every creature, every human being who leaves this world is alive.
How angels deal with infidels when they take their souls
Ayatollah Javadi Amoli refers to the way angels deal with infidels and hypocrites at the time of death, referring to verse 50 of Surah Anfal, and citing a statement by Ayatollah Shah-Abadi in the interpretation of this verse, he says: The secret of angels hitting the backs and faces of criminals is this. : There are some angels who are appointed for this world, there are some angels who are appointed for the Hereafter, and these are managers by God's permission; The angels of this world see that this person has reached the end of his life and has not done anything, they hit their back with pressure and drive him out of the world, the angels of the hereafter see that this person enters from this world into the hereafter and purgatory with empty hands
They will slap them saying that why did you spend your life in destruction and come back empty-handed." Therefore, some Angels who are in that world slap in the face of infidels and hypocrites. And the angels who are in this world are firmly hitting them on the back.
Purgatory of the grave in the term of the theologians
He continues to explain the concept of purgatory and grave and reminds us: In this part of Surah Anfal and in other verses, God Almighty says: When the infidels and hypocrites die, the angels beat their faces and their backs. Between these beatings, He sees pressure. which is one of the manifestations of the pressure of the grave; Because grave means purgatory; then, the grave world doesn’t mean the same structure that exists in the natural world, well, now if someone drowns in the sea, he has a grave, in space vultures will kill him, and if he enters one of these spheres in a ship, he will freeze there and turn into powder. It has a grave, basically the grave in the so-called religion is purgatory, but this so-called grave has a jurisprudential effect on how should bury a person facing the Qiblah, how to inculcate it and the like, otherwise in terms of theological debates (al-Qabr =al-barzakh).
This exegete of the Quran emphasizes a narration of Imam Masoom (a.s.): Imam (a.s.) was asked: When does Purgatory begin? As soon as a person enters the grave, he enters Purgatory. Man enters the purgatory directly from this world.
The meaning of the Holy Quran about the life after the death of infidels
Ayatollah Javadi Amoli further clarifies: If [the deceased] is a disbeliever who is subject to this beating and injury, which is mentioned in Surah Anfal and in Surah Muhammad (pbuh), verses 27 and 28 are as follows
Those who did not ask for the satisfaction of God and did not follow the command of Him, when the angels take their souls, the angels hit their faces, and backs, so if death means destruction, then hitting has no meaning anymore; Hitting an indestructible thing is a useless work, hitting a body that has no effect and does not suffer is a useless work. Angels hit their faces and backs, it is a sign that they are really alive and suffering.
How Barzakhians face the deceased
He says about the way the Barzakhians deal with the deceased: When a believer passes away, the Barzakhians are happy that a good guest has come for them, and if a weak person passes away, they say: Don't ask him anything for now; let this transfer of death from the world to purgatory be taken from him and he recovers a bit, we will ask him little by little, then they will ask how is that person? This newcomer also reports that: So-and-so died before me and so-and-so is alive. When he says: so and so person died before me, these Barzakhians understand that poor person was a hypocrite and fell and stayed on the road, they say if he was a good person, they would have brought him to us. Since they didn't bring us, it is known that he is among those who have fallen on the way, and if he reports that a certain person is healthy and alive in the world, they ask for forgiveness for him, they ask for good and hope that, God willing, he will recover
Ayatollah Javadi Amoli emphasizes: When a believing person reaches Purgatory, it is also a source of effect for them, especially if he is a martyr. Therefore, the Holy Quran considers a martyr as a being that is immune to decay, and a healthy being and the source of an effect, and this effect is not specific to the survivors and the people of the world, but it is a new grace for the Barzakhians as well
The benefit of believers from life and God's blessings after death
In explaining the benefit of believers from life and God's blessings after death, he says: Believers, whether those who were killed in the cause of God or those who were not killed in the cause of God, these are alive and are blessed; Like verse 32 of Surah Nahl, which said
الذين تتوفّـهم الملائكة طيبين يقولون سلامٌ عليكم أدخلوا الجنة بما كنتم تعملون
Those who are taken by angels, the good angels say peace be upon you, enter Paradise with what you used to do; He said: Those who are believers and die, the angels greet them, then they say: These are the doors of mercy and the doors of heaven. Enter through any door you want
this is in the state of death, and this is the observer of the Paradise of Purgatory, not the original paradise. There are also these blessings in Paradise, but because of the fact that He said: these good people when leave the world, they are the objects of the angels' love, so, this issue is observer the state of purgatory
