Meaning of Rahman
In the tradition of the Qur'an, "Rahman and Rahim" are used in two meanings. Rahman is used as God's mercy in the world towards all creatures. When we praise God with mercy, we are actually saying that God's mercy includes all beings in the world. So Rahman means the one who has mercy for everyone. What is this universal mercy of God?
