By the racers, panting
And the producers of sparks [when] striking
And the chargers at dawn
Stirring up thereby [clouds of] dust
Arriving thereby in the center collectively
Indeed, mankind, to his Lord, is ungrateful
And indeed, he is to that a witness
And indeed he is, in love of wealth, intense
But does he not know that when the contents of the graves are scattered
And that within the breasts is obtained
Indeed, their Lord with them, that Day, is [fully] Acquainted
Points
“Enemy” means to transgress. Since running is to exceed the limits of normal movement, it is called “enemy.” “Dhabha” means the sound of a horse’s breath. “Qadha” means the release of fire from a flint, “Al-Mughirat” is from “Agharah” meaning to gallop quickly, “Subha” is an allusion to surprising the enemy and concealing the time of the attack. “Atharna” is from “Athara” meaning to spread, “Naqa” meaning to dust, and “Kanud” meaning to disbelieve. The word “bu’athra” has the meaning of “ba’ath” and “athara” meaning to pull out and turn over. “Hussel” means to extract the kernel from the shell and to distinguish good and bad qualities from each other on that day. In some verses, the Quran criticizes man for some of his characteristics and calls him "oppressive and ignorant" (1), "crazy" (2), "desperate" (3), "ungrateful" (4), "unbelieving" (5), and "miserly" (6). But on the other hand, He says about man: “We have honored him” (7), “We have favored him” (8), “We have given him the best of stature” (9), “I have breathed into him of My Spirit” (10). This duality is due to the fact that there are two types of motive forces in man: one is the intellect and the other is the instinct. If it is on the path of serving God and educating the saints of God, it is in one way, and if it is on the path of desires, demons, and temptations, it is in another way. The Quran criticizes the intense and greedy interest in worldly wealth that causes one to forget the Hereafter and the deprived. “Indeed, it is intense for the love of goodness.” The Quran has interpreted worldly wealth as “good”: “For the love of goodness,” to make it clear that wealth should be obtained through good means and spent in the way of goodness with good intentions and in a good manner
