Points

The word *Qāri‘ah* is derived from *qar‘*, meaning to strike one thing against another. *Qāri‘ah* is one of the names of the Day of Resurrection because it begins with a resounding, striking blast, and the punishment associated with it is crushing and severe

We read in narrations that Imam Ali (peace be upon him) and his infallible descendants serve as the scale and criterion for weighing human deeds on the Day of Resurrection

The reason the word *mawāzīn* (scales/balances) appears in the plural form may be that various human actions are weighed using different instruments, with each type of action having its own specific scale

*Mawāzīn* is the plural of *mīzān*, meaning an instrument of measurement. It is evident that human deeds are not material objects possessing physical weight or mass that could be measured by ordinary scales; rather, each category of human action has its own specific criterion for evaluation

A mother serves as a haven and refuge for all her children; yet, in the Hereafter, Hell becomes the mother and refuge for a certain group of people

“Huviah” from “huv” means fall, and hell is the place of collective fall

“Humiah” from “humy” means intense heat

Colorful mountains become colorful like wool as a result of being broken into pieces and crushed into dust

“كَالْعِهْنِ الْمَنْفُوشِ”

“Manfush” from “nafsh” means to open and stretch wool until its parts break apart

Lightness and heaviness are not specific to material things. Therefore, empty words are called: light speech. Perhaps the meaning of “the weight of his scales” and “the lightness of his scales” is the value and quality of the action, and perhaps it is also the meaning of its scarcity and abundance

Imam Ali (peace be upon him) said: The meaning of the lightness of an action is the scarcity of the action, and the meaning of the heaviness of an action is its abundance. “The scarcity of the account and the abundance"

Someone despised Salman, asking who and what are you? He replied: First, I and you are sperm, and the last I and you are corpses. This is the world, but on the Day of Judgment whoever is heavy in the scale will be honored, and whoever is light will be despised and blamed

The Day of Judgment is the destroyer of the arrogant and the arrogant spirits

- The Day of Judgment is beyond human thought. Even the Prophet is unaware of it without divine revelation

The Day of Judgment is the day of human astonishment and wandering

Paradise should be valued, not an excuse

A completely happy life is specific to the Day of Judgment. Because in the world, along with achievements, there is the concern of illness, theft, envy, loss, and transience

Contentment with life is one of the signs of the heavenly society

The basis of punishment and reward is action, which is weighed with the scales of justice
